Winter Solstice

We took a walk out on the frozen lake
you caught my eye
Through crispy air on this starless night
You have been lost before
our lives are laid
You let me walk through that door
and so I fade
And oh my love you should be unafraid
a winter’s cry
I turned my back on you endless times
You have been lost before
but to this end
You let me walk through that door
too far extend,
and pretend, be a friend, to the sun of this winter
Never did the snow shine brighter.
see the sparkling on a fee to me
We did walk this frozen road together—on solstice eve
The sun at length it rises,
through the distant woods, it’s snowing down
And oh my love you should be unafraid
a winter’s cry, the other day
before the stars have left the skies
at morning in the dark I rise

Islands

You may abandon me so easily
with your glittering gold
You may treat me like no-one else
but still from below I’ll survive
Was it my happiness that upset you?
Where did you get this from?
This is because I’ve had all of it?
… living in my perfect room
Did you like to see me falling?
Going down without regrets
Hold me tight like no-one else
lost on these islands twice

Ruins
09:10
|

Cornfields bending to the ground in the wind of their ancestors,
not knowing while growing that their end is not that far and satisfying
They proudly raise their sons and give them towers full of love
Love, that will show them the damp cold darkness
below the lawn in the backyard
Chiming in the sweet fragrance of decay—the melodies of innocence
Angels come and get me—I have no fear
My respectable past makes me feel secure
Will my fortress of creed protect me anymore?
Paradise is not the bait for leading me astray
Ants romping around their hill, doing their work
which gives them a life-size statue and contentment
But now you see them torn to pieces, their flesh in the mud
as blazing hatred popped a banger into their hill
